Welcome to Sale Folk Club
Our WEEKLY ACOUSTIC FOLK NIGHT
SALE FOLK CLUB - TUESDAY 21 JUNE 2022
Here is a taste of the music from the first part of the evening. Paul Riley kicked off the Summer Solstice celebration with Walk right In which Kath and Stan did, singing Windmills. Kevin gave a brief reference to Fairport Convention by singing The Plainsman followed by Mark who was visiting us on his way home further north where he hoped Gentle Falls the Rain, his own song about Ukraine. Allen thought about Scotland with the 51st (Highland) Division's Farewell to Sicily which gave Ed The Flushers before Paul began round two with Oak and Ash and Thorn - all on a Midsummer Morn. Kath and Stan thought about The Weaver's Daughter. Kevin rejoiced that School Days Were Over followed by Mark, again singing one of his own compositions, this time about a mining community in the North East, Did You Know. Allen poked fun at himself as a 20th Century Dinosaur before Ed poked fun at Murgatroyd and Matilda, a Les Barker poem. And so the stage was set for another few rounds on the longest night of the year which seemed to go past in no time at all.
